My name is Alan Black, I am a British Army Veteran who served 11 years in the Black Watch an infantry Unit, based in Inverness. During my service I reached the rank of Corporal, and carried out several deployments overseas including Helmand Province Afghanistan. I am now a fully qualified Strength and Conditioning coach, Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach and a Mobility/Rehabilitation Coach.

I am a very focused and driven individual who thrives in getting the best out of every single individual who reaches out to me for help. I coach with the highest of standards, and I expect every single client to turn up ready to give 100 percent without any excuses.

Participants engage in a series of workouts that test their endurance, strength, and overall fitness. The unique format of Hyrox makes it a dynamic and intense training experience, appealing to individuals seeking a well-rounded fitness challenge.

MY hyrox journey

I coach all areas of Fitness, but a big passion of mine is Functional Fitness. I carry out 3 Hyrox events per year and I travel all over the world to do these, which pushes me on and always keep me motivated. I am now competing in the Pro ranks and my goal is to get under that hour as quickly as possible, so I can compete with the worlds best.

MY hyrox journey

I coach all areas of fitness, but a big passion of mine in functional fitness. I carry out 3 Hyrox events per year, I travel all over to do these and train very specifically to do as well as I can. My current time is 1 hour 16 minutes, with the world record only 18 minutes better. My drive is to get as close to that as I possibly can.
